Brian Poirier, MD

Dr Poirier is a diplomate of the American Board of Pathology in anatomic and clinical pathology as well as in transfusion medicine. He earned his medical degree from the University of Colorado Health Science Center in Denver, where he received the dean's recognition for academic excellence. Dr Poirier has completed residencies in anatomic and clinical pathology at the University of California at Davis in addition to fellowships in surgical pathology and transfusion medicine.

Brian Caveney, M.D.

Brian Caveney, M.D. has served as Executive Vice President and President, Early Development Research Laboratories and Chief Medical and Scientific Officer at Labcorp since 2023.

In his current role, Brian leads all early development research laboratories globally and oversees all medical and scientific affairs, oncology, cell and gene therapy and quality for Labcorp.

Brian Caveney, MD

Dr Caveney holds an MD from the West Virginia University School of Medicine, a JD from the West Virginia University College of Law and an MPH in health policy and administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He completed his residency at Duke University Medical Center and is board-certified in preventive medicine, with a specialty in occupational and environmental medicine. He is the past president of the Southeastern Atlantic College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine and continues to hold an active law license in North Carolina.

Bing Huang, MD, PhD

Dr Huang is a fellow of the American College of Medical Genetics. She received a medical degree from Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences, Guangzhou, China, and a PhD in human genetics from the Medical College of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University. She received fellowship training in the National Institutes of Health’s medical genetics training program.

Bing Huang, MD, PhD

Dr Huang is a fellow of the American College of Medical Genetics. She received a medical degree from Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences, Guangzhou, China, and a PhD in human genetics from the Medical College of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University. Ms Burns holds certification from American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Registry in the following categories: medical laboratory technician (MLT), medical technologist (MT), and specialist in hematology (SH). She has 30 years of combined hospital, outpatient clinic, and reference laboratory experience as a generalist in all disciplines of the clinical laboratory, with specialty expertise in hematology and routine coagulation/hemostatis-thrombosis.

Mr Nye joined Labcorp in 2005 with previous generalist experience in a community hospital and large tertiary care academic medical centers. He earned a BS in medical laboratory science at the University of Vermont. He is certified as a medical technologist and specialist in hematology by the American Society for Clinical Pathology. Mr Nye’s current responsibilities include operations director at the regional laboratory in Burlington, North Carolina.  Additionally, he is the co-discipline director for core laboratory coagulation.
