Xiaofei Cong, PhD

Dr. Xiaofei Cong joined Labcorp Central Laboratory Services’ immunology department in May 2021. As a scientist II based in Shanghai, he has led immunoassay validation, overseen collaborative scientific projects at Asia-Pacific sites and provided cross-departmental support to meet the clinical research needs of global clients. Before joining Labcorp, Xiaofei worked as a Bayer research scientist and principal investigator at the joint pulmonary drug discovery lab in Boston, Massachusetts, and led the preclinical drug development projects related to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.

Xiaofei has more than seven years of experience in therapeutic target exploration and drug development in industry and academia. He obtained his PhD in growth biology from Virginia Tech and continued his postdoctoral training at the Eastern Virginia Medical School, gaining a strong background in physiology, myopathy and pulmonary disease.
