Sterile plastic container (CSF, synovial fluid), lavender-top (EDTA) tube, or yellow-top (ACD) tube


Storage Instructions

CSF and synovial fluid are stable at room temperature or refrigerated for seven days or frozen for 90 days. Whole blood is stable at room temperature or refrigerated for seven days; do not freeze.


Test Details


Use

This assay is intended to be used as an aid to the diagnosis of infections caused by Borrelia burgdorferi sensu stricto, the etiologic agent of Lyme disease in the United States. It is not intended to be used for testing patients suspected of acquiring Lyme disease outside of the US.


Limitations

This test was developed and its performance characteristics determined by Labcorp. It has not been cleared or approved by the Food and Drug Administration.
